Welcome back to the Wild Childz® Development Journal. Your behind-the-scenes insight into Wild Childz as it continues its journey from concept to collection.

To Our Wild Family

We know you have been waiting.

Since our last journal entry, many of you have continued to show up, to believe, and to hold space for this journey even when the silence felt long. We appreciate that.

This Ping doll production update covers real progress, including a breakthrough in the part of Ping's development that has taken the most time to get right.

It also covers something we owe you an honest word about.

This is where resilience meets progress.

Progress & Development

The Hair Breakthrough...

The most meaningful development since our last update is the solution we have found for Ping's hair.

When we brought additional expertise into the hair-rooting process, we were exploring every avenue to reach the quality standard we promised. That exploration led us to a professional hair rooter whose precision has brought Ping's hairstyle exactly where it needs to be.

This was not only about solving a problem. It was about making sure the right fiber, the correct color, and every strand serves Ping's character as she was envisioned.

The results validate the decision completely.

Her hair development is now in the hands of a specialist who understands the intricate work required to bring her personality to life. Samples are being prepared, and the next shipment of materials and references is being coordinated with our manufacturing partners.

Ping's Current Status

With the hair solution established, development can continue forward across the elements that ultimately have to come together as one finished Ping.

Face artwork and decoration continue alongside hair development, with each detail mapped against a registration guide so that the placement established during development can be consistently reproduced during manufacturing.

The work happening now is less about changing who Ping is and more about translating the Ping we designed into a Ping that can be manufactured consistently, from one doll to the next.

The momentum we needed is here.

Behind the Scenes: What the Silence Actually Was

In our last entry, we mentioned navigating significant business and production decisions. We want to be more specific about what that meant without repeating the groundwork we've already shared.

The period that followed required continued negotiation around production agreements, manufacturing costs, engineering decisions, and the structure needed to move development forward responsibly.

Those decisions carried real consequences.

There were opportunities to move faster by accepting compromises. Instead, we continued working through the details necessary to protect the quality, cost, character, and long-term vision of Wild Childz.

That meant more conversations with manufacturers, more revisions, and more problem-solving. It also meant a period of silence while those pieces were being worked through.

We recognize that the silence created uncertainty, and for that, we apologize.

What we want you to know is simple: when moving faster would have meant compromising the integrity of Wild Childz, we chose to keep working until we found a solution that protected the quality, character, and vision of Ping who opens the door for an even smoother and faster outcome for Zarri, Chazelle, and Tajah.

An Honest Word About Our Updates

In our first entry, we promised a new journal every Saturday.

We have not held to that, and you were right to expect what we said we would deliver.

Behind every journal entry is the development work itself: design, coordination, engineering, testing, approvals, problem-solving, and the many decisions required to move an independently developed product toward production.

Sometimes progress happens quickly. Other times, development is waiting on a sample, a revision, an approval, or the resolution of something that cannot responsibly be rushed.

We chose this path, and we own the responsibility that comes with it.

What we should not have done was promise a communication schedule that the realities of development could not always support.

Going forward, the Development Journal will follow meaningful development milestones rather than an arbitrary weekly deadline.

Some stretches may bring several entries. Others may be quieter while work is underway or samples and approvals are pending.

What will not happen again is silence without explanation.

Ping's articulation points (including her wrists and elbows) are engineered with specific tolerances in mind.

Different plastic materials may be required across jointed areas to achieve the right combination of movement, durability, and flexibility. Ping's removable hands and lower-arm components also make dressing and posing her easier while protecting the integrity of her articulation.

These seemingly small decisions require coordination between design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance so that the experience remains consistent from doll to doll.

It is one of many engineering decisions made long before you ever hold Ping in your hands.

Looking Ahead: Closer to the Process

With engineering revisions finalized and specifications locked in on Ping, we're moving into hands-on production oversight, conducting firsthand review of revised production samples, quality assessments, and testing protocols as manufacturing progresses.

There are parts of this journey that are best shared when they can be seen... not anticipated, scheduled, or promised before they happen. As those moments become available to us, we look forward to bringing you closer to them.

That may mean a different kind of Development Journal than what you have seen so far. Less explaining what is coming, and more showing you what has actually happened.

For now, the work continues.

On Timing

Our manufacturing partners have provided us with a target timeline as development continues forward.

We are intentionally holding off on publishing a specific shipping window until our upcoming factory visit is complete.

We would rather verify progress firsthand, seeing the development, revised samples, and production status in-person, before giving you another date to plan around.

Once we have that visibility, we will return here with what we know.

When individual orders are ultimately fulfilled, customers will receive shipping confirmation and tracking information directly.
